Although we just sent out a Prophecy Letter, some BREAKING NEWS has surfaced which we must share and comment on. These relate to the election of a new Pope and America’s abandonment of Israel. I encourage all to read the entirety of these comments as they carry significant bearing on our world view as believers.
New Pope Elected
The votes are in, and Cardinal Robert Prevost has just been elected as the new Pope (The Jerusalem Post). It has yet to be revealed what the particulars of his beliefs are, but this doesn’t truly matter as far as believers are concerned at this point. He will perform the role God has installed him to perform, and given his relative youth (69 years old), it is possible (dare I say likely) that he will be the Pope when Jesus returns unless something catastrophic occurs. We understand the individual in this office to be the “false prophet” of Revelation 16 who will continue to work upon the nations “to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty” as Scripture says (Revelation 16:13-14). When Jesus returns, “he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand” (Daniel 8:25). Lord willing, we will be able to write more extensively on this subject in the future as time and opportunity allow.
Yet the most pressing issue at hand is this:
The US Abandons Israel
I believe we may now be witnessing what we have been discussing for some time – the reason Israel stands alone against her prophetic enemies, meaning that not even the US comes to Israel’s aid! This is an incredible development and is important on multiple accounts, for it not only shows the times we live in, but teaches us to trust in God’s Word regardless of what natural circumstances appear to be.
Let us quickly mention why Israel must stand on their own. We mentioned a few verses in our previous Prophecy Letter, but there is another which we should add to it. It is found in the context of Isaiah 63:1-6 which foretells the time when Israel is saved by Christ, and it details his movements from the south with garments stained by the blood of his adversaries. In the midst of this passage, we find
Isaiah 63:5 – And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.
Given the context of this verse, we find that the only logical subject which needs “help” is Israel, for only they and their enemy nations are the subject of Isaiah 63:1-6. This means that not even America is there “to help” and “to uphold” Israel – Christ will therefore do it. The question was, how will America abandon Israel?
The Biden administration seemed to be the perfect fit for this prophecy. Given the antisemitic nature of the administration, it was easy to see how the US might abandon Israel. Yet Trump was one of the most pro-Israel presidents in American history under his first term, and his re-election therefore indicated that there would be a reversal of Biden’s actions and herald another “golden age” of US-Israel relations. The Jewish world rejoiced when he was elected, and Trump pledged to take Israel’s side on every subject. But when he was elected, the testimony of Scripture compelled us to write the following in January:
“As Biden appeared to be moving the needle closer to the time when Israel would cry to their Lord, Trump’s election might therefore appear to be an enormous step backwards. The thought is, “If the US is now a great friend of Israel, doesn’t this mean that the prophecy remains far into the future?” Not so fast… It is naïve to conclude that US-Israel ties will always be as cozy as they are now, and there are certain subjects which the US and Israel do not always see eye to eye on… Trump was not happy with some of the things Israel was doing, and things could develop in the future which cause for a rift between the two allies… We can’t know for sure when and how things will happen, but we do know that God’s Word will be accomplished.”
Not even six months into Trump’s presidency, instead of Trump being called “Israel’s greatest friend”, we’re now seeing this:
Who would have ever thought that Biden might be considered a better friend of Israel than Trump? Yet there’s more:
Report: Trump 'disappointed' with Netanyahu, will continue Middle East policy objectives without Israel – The Times of Israel
Netanyahu: Israel will Defend Itself Anywhere, Against Any Threat, With Its Own Forces – United with Israel
Mark these well, for they represent a cataclysmic shift in Israel’s fortunes and show precisely what Scripture foretells! As of now, Trump is leaving Israel in the dust, and here is how. As conjectured, it all appears to stem from Trump’s “America First” policy:
When the Houthis in Yemen, struck Israel’s airport, the US and Israel worked together to strike back. But now, Trump has made a truce deal with the Houthis which excludes Israel, leaving Israel to fight the Houthis alone:
Trump ditched Israel with surprise Houthi truce. That doesn't bode well on Iran – The Times of Israel
The latest stab in the back relates to the US-Saudi nuclear deal. Under Biden, the goal was to forge a nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia which also worked to strengthen regional ties, and America therefore told Saudi Arabia, “If you want a deal with us, you need to normalize relations with Israel”. Israel’s security and concerns were therefore taken into consideration. But now, this critical element has just been dropped by Trump:
Trump is showing that America is willing to leave Israel out of the picture unless their goals align with America’s. The tension between the two leaders is increasing, and its severity is seen with Trump’s upcoming visit to the Middle East. He is planning to meet with many countries, but not Israel. It’s a clear signal that Trump is not happy with Israel and cares little for their concerns. In a scrambling response, Israel has been “pushing Trump to visit” during his upcoming Mideast trip, but this has so far been denied (World Israel News). As reported by World Israel News,
Trump ‘frustrated’ with Netanyahu, plans to side-step Israel in Mideast initiatives – World Israel News
As to how and why America will abandon Israel in their time of need when the Psalm 83 nations attack, we might have a clue from another current event. A war just broke out again between India and Pakistan, but the US “America First” response was this:
The Vice President J.D. Vance has said that they will have no part in the India-Pakistan conflict because it is “none of our business.” We therefore must wonder - Will this reasoning be applied to Israel and her Islamic enemies when they attack? It might well be.
All of this means that things are progressing as the Word says it will, and this should be a source of great faith and confidence in the Truth. It is a perfect testament that we should put stock only in what the Word of God says, not what present circumstances appear to be. What man views as a “step backwards” is not so to God.
How We Should View These Events
But how should we view these things? Many might feel a mix of emotions in seeing Israel being sidelined, and this is natural. We express excitement at what it represents (for it shows that prophecy is progressing), but we feel frustration on a natural level for Israel’s sake and the license it gives her enemies. This brings up a critical point in relation to our world view and how believers should see things. We must view current events as Christ and the prophets did. Consider:
Jesus was berated, smitten, and crucified by his own people, and he knew the judgment that would be poured out on them as a result (Matthew 23:37-39). While his heart wanted to gather them under his wings as does a mother hen and her chicks, he knew that Scripture must be fulfilled, and this required Israel to be blind and crucify him. What this means is that certain things must transpire because of God’s eternal plan, and while some aspects can be difficult to accept or grasp from a natural level, we must see things with our spiritual mind, not our fleshly one.
Another relevant example relates to the current rise in antisemitism. It’s terrible to see things that are being said about and done to Jews all around the world, but we know that this is necessary according to the Divine plan for multiple reasons. As relates to Israel, they must be alone against their enemies because this vulnerability is what will cause them to finally look to their Messiah for help and ultimately recognize him and repent (see and compare Isaiah 17:1, 4-7, 12-13, Hosea 5:15, Joel 3:16, Zechariah 12:5, 12:8, Isaiah 31:4-5). If the nations of the world loved the Jews and took their side, this would not come to pass. It is therefore necessary for Israel’s eternal good to be alone. Antisemitism is also helping to gather the nations to battle against Christ so he can conquer the earth, but that’s a subject for another time.
The lesson for us is this: Instead of looking at what man is doing and why, we must look at what God is doing through them and why. The Lord uses the nations as chess pieces, and we must look at the moves being made from the point of view of the chess player, not the chess pieces. This is the point of view that the Bible teaches us to have, and it creates in us the spirit which is acceptable to God. It gives us the disposition which allows us to pray for rulers but not get involved in the political system (1 Timothy 2:1-2, John 15:19), to see the trouble going on in the earth but not fear it, and to draw strength and faith where the rest of the world sees only despair and ruin. We know that all is working toward God’s grand purpose with the earth which will culminate in this, and it is this grand end that we must remember and work toward:
Numbers 14:21 – But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.
