No Peace & a New Development in Regathering Israel

It can be difficult to keep tabs on all of the different prophecies being developed on a daily basis. At this time, we want to share some comments on just a couple developments of interest. We want to focus on the lack of peace in Israel’s future, and most interestingly, the relevance of a newly elected mayor of New York city (yes, even something as “small” as this is helping develop God’s plan!). Be sure to subscribe to Bro. Myles Kaufman’s Daily World Watch for daily news updates! You can do so here.

No peace in sight – as expected!

It might seem like the Hamas war has ended and that the only thing left to do is to get the rest of the hostages back. This is far from the reality of the situation. There is still the big question to settle of how Gaza is going to be managed and supervised, and it seems that the US is wanting to play a heavy role in this:

Will the US build such a base, and if so, does this have any relevance to prophecy? I’m doubtful that the US will have a presence like this in the region, and I personally do not see any clear prophetic relevance. What we know from the Bible concerning the Gaza Strip is that it will be inhabited in the latter days by an enemy of Israel, and those enemies will be destroyed by Christ and Israel when that land is absorbed into Christ’s Kingdom (VERSE). We also find Israel standing alone against these enemies (with the exception of Christ), so I doubt that America will have any permanent presence there.

As I was just about to send out this Prophecy Letter, the White House just denied that it had any plans to establish a military base in Israel (Israel National News). I suppose that settles it then! I debated deleting all of these comments about the US once I saw the US announcement, but I chose to leave these here to show how quickly things can change!

But one thing is certain – the Bible says that Israel will have no peace until the King of Peace rules amongst them, and this fact is seen today. Even though the most intense phase of fighting seems to be behind Israel (for now), this is clearly not the end of the war as a whole. Consider the following headlines:

Instead of Israel’s enemies throwing in the towel and opting for peace, they are actively preparing for another round of conflict. This is nothing new. This cycle has been played over literally dozens of times since Israel was reborn as a nation, and it will not end until Christ is King over the land. Thankfully, that day is fast approaching!

Gathering from the four winds of heaven

One of the more interesting developments of late relates to the new mayor of New York City. His name is Zohran Mamdani. He is 34 years old and a proud Muslim millennial socialist. He is New York City’s first Muslim mayor. During his campaign, he was noted for his incredibly strong, unreserved liberal values which are anti-Israel and anti-Christian. Prophetically speaking, I believe this is important on two fronts:

Firstly, when Trump won his second term, the Democratic party was forced to look hard at themselves and plan a new path forward. What values will they claim to represent? How will they appeal to voters? Mamdani’s election in New York is presenting itself as a viable option, and given his “bully-like” tactics and attitude, the Democratic party sees him as a potential counterweight to Trump (TIME).

What this means is that we are likely seeing what the next Democratic presidential candidate is going to look like. Not that it will necessarily be Mamdani himself, but someone with similar characteristics. This is important to prophecy because Bible students have been looking for something that causes Israel to stand alone from her enemies in their time of need, and that means that not even the US can come to their aid. Israel’s isolation is a critical factor in their recognition of Jesus as their Messiah, and if America were to install someone like Mamdani as president, Israel would be on their own.

Secondly, Mamdani’s intense antisemitic values has helped drive more Jews to return to Israel. Prophecy shows that the regathering of Jews to Israel is a critical element of prophecy. As just one example, God says in Ezekiel 11:17, “Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.” Now that New York is going to be run by a leftist, Muslim man who is so hostile to Israel, Jews are actually avoiding and beginning to flee New York. It was recently reported that almost HALF of Israelis will not go to New York City with Mamdani as mayor (World Israel News). Israel is seeing this opportunity and calling for Jews to return to Israel – their only refuge on earth – and it is amazing to see some of the steps they’re implementing to bring Jews back:

People are raising funds to help bring Jews back to Israel, and the Israeli government has promised to give new immigrants a two-income tax exemption if they return to Israel! Talk about incentivizing Aliyah! We therefore see that even something as “small” as the election of a mayor of a single city can be used by God to further His plan.

The importance of this present situation is also seen in what New York has represented for Jews over the past hundreds of years. During the centuries of persecution while Israel was all in dispersion and Israel was still a dead nation, the city of New York was an important refuge for Jews. This was so much the case that a book was written called Haven of Liberty: New York Jews in the New World, spanning the years 1654-1865. But the Bible tells us that Israel will be the controversy of the nations in the latter times, so it is no surprise to see that even the city of New York is now on a “do not go” list for many Jews.

As always, we stress the importance of viewing world events from the viewpoint which God teaches us through His Word. These are sad, frustrating developments on a natural plane, and it is easy for us to get caught up in this shallow, surface-level perspective. But God is working toward the redemption of the nation of Israel and the eventual redemption of the entire race of man, and He has shown us in His Word that the process we are now seeing is the process He has instituted to bring these things about. We think of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt and think of the hardship those Israelites had to endure to be delivered, and it is therefore only logical that the second exodus to the land will be through similar means. There will come a time when Jesus himself will declare himself to the nations and summon the rest of the Jews to return, and this is shown in

Isaiah 11:10-12 – And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.  (11)  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.  (12)  And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

But this will not take place until Jesus returns. In the meantime, the Lord is still regathering His people, but He is doing so through utilizing the tool of nations. God hardened pharaoh’s heart so Israel would look for a deliverer and seek deliverance, and He is doing the same thing with the world’s rulers today (Romans 9:17-21). Therefore, if we groan when we see things like this develop, let it not be because of how God is working, but for the fact that Israel needs persecution in order to return to their ancient homeland. The more we can see things from God’s view, the greater confidence and peace we will have in all aspects of life. It is for that purpose that God gave us His word – that we might be “transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). Once our Master returns, every woe and trouble we feel now will be a thing of the past forever, as long as we be found amongst the faithful at his coming.
