Dearest Brethren and friends, we were in the process of writing a Prophecy Letter which covered a wide spectrum of world news, but a recent occurrence has caused us to postpone that letter and write this one instead:
Iran has just received a massive blow from Israel last night, and with Bible in hand, we rejoice to see it! It is not that we love war, but rather that the Scriptures indicate that an event of this kind would take place in the days leading up to Israel’s war with the Islamic nations and the appearance of Jesus Christ! Consider the news headlines which tell the story of what happened and how Iran was affected. All of these were just reported by World Israel News:
The strike targeted Iran’s nuclear sites, nuclear scientists, and their top military leaders – a decisive and catastrophic blow for Iran!
Why a Strike is Expected from Prophecy
We have talked of the possibility of an event like this since 2021, and while there have been some missile exchanges between Israel and Iran since then, nothing has been has damaging as this recent strike. The reason we expect this strike is because of how the Bible describes the latter-day wars and the confederacies of nations which will fight against Israel in Christ.
The first phase of these future conflicts is described in Psalm 83, Zechariah 12-13:6, 14:4-21, and many, many other passages. Psalm 83 actually names the identity of the nations who comprise the Islamic confederacy who will all come against Israel, and while many of those players have historically been supported by Iran (like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Syria), Iran is not named in this confederacy. Iran is mentioned in Scripture by their original name Persia, and the only time we read of Persia coming against Israel is alongside Russia as described in Ezekiel 38. For reasons which are too numerous to mention here, this event with Russia and Iran is believed to be the second phase of the latter-day wars.
Yet from our current place in time, it seems odd that Iran would be absent from the Psalm 83 war given how involved they are with those Islamic nations. But seeing that Iran was absent from this conflict but would be present for the next one, we concluded that something must occur which would temporarily incapacitate Iran and hinder their ability to directly attack Israel. This could be achieved through various means, but the result would nevertheless be that the only way Iran could harm Israel would be through her proxy nations – the Psalm 83 nations. To us, a pre-emptive strike from Israel seemed to be the most likely way of accomplishing this, and while we do not yet know the full extent of the damage to Iran from this recent strike, it appears that this could fit the bill!
This strike seems to have other bearings on prophecy as well. What’s notable about the Psalm 83 Islamic war is not only that Iran is absent from the fight, but that Israel fights these enemies alone – meaning that even the US cannot back Israel at that time. When one studies this subject, they will find that Israel must be alone in this war because it will humble them and cause them to turn to their Messiah, and this is what brings about the end of Israel’s days of “blindness” and ignorance of the identity of their Messiah and the cleansing of the Jewish nation (Romans 11:25). No place is this more clearly seen than in Zechariah 12:2-14, a reading of which we encourage at this time. The chapter begins with the nations “round about” coming against Israel (those named in Psalm 83) and shows how Israel will realize their strength in God, the Lord will fight for Israel, and when the dust settles, they will look their savior and realize that he is indeed Jesus of Nazareth. The chapter ends with their great mourning at this realization, but the spirit of grace will be poured out on them and they will be cleansed. Chapter 13 gets into how this cleansing process will be carried. But for our purposes here, we mention it because all of this is the result of Israel standing along against her enemies. Israel will be forced to realize that their salvation came not from any carnal nations, nor even of their own hands, but by the Lord himself alone.
What’s important about this most recent strike is that it was carried out by Israel alone. While the US has warned that they might strike Iran if they don’t come to the negotiating table, the US has stated that they had no hand in this recent strike whatsoever. That means that Iran’s is bound to reply to Israel alone, and if they are not already neutralized, we might see all-out war between Israel and Iran now to bring this about.
We are out of time to comment further on this at the moment, but we will be sharing more updates as things progress. BE WATCHING AND BE PREPARED, for we fully expect that the saints (those who are in covenant relation through baptism) will be gathered well before this Psalm 83 war fully gets into swing. It could be any moment!
In our One Hope,
